I picked up The Thursday Murder Club because it kept showing up in my recommendations, and curiosity got the better of me. It’s been a while since I read something so delightfully English.
Four elderly friends living in a charming retirement village (which I now desperately want to move into) meet every Thursday to review unsolved murder cases. Drawing on their diverse professional backgrounds, they make an unexpectedly sharp investigative team. But things get serious when a real murder happens right in their neighborhood. Can they crack the case?
I enjoyed this book from start to end. It’s a fun story full of twists and turns. The characters grow throughout the story, and I love the Cooper Chase community. This is just the first book in the series—three more to go, and I can’t wait.
And finally, I have to say—I loved Richard Osman’s writing. A brilliant debut!
Give 'The Thursday Murder Club' a try if you enjoy cozy mysteries with charm, wit, and a touch of heart.
